Although people have been having home weddings for years, there has been quite a rise in the number of such events. Perhaps you too could end up saving hundreds or even thousands of dollars on your ceremony and/or reception simply by planning to have the event take place at home.

As you begin to plan a home ceremony, you can begin to look at the venue that you have to work with. Will you be using your own home or that of a close friend or relative? Plus, not only will you have a great way to save money, but you will also have a much more intimate setting that you can enjoy with all of your guests that are going to be attending.

Depending on the number of guests that you will be having at your wedding, you may want to call a local rental place to see what their prices are on tents, tables and chairs. If the wedding will be taking place when the weather is on the chillier side you can also get some pricing on outdoor heaters to try to keep your guests nice and toasty. Also, you cannot forget the issue of bathrooms. Make sure that there are adequate facilities to cover all of your guests on your list. Some couples will even look into one or two portable facilities that can be placed tastefully outdoors where the guests can gain access.
