Consider Wedding Favors for a Good Cause

It can be difficult trying to come up with a wedding favors theme, or you may just want something completely different and unique. Of course there are several different types of the ‘traditional” wedding favors and there is nothing wrong about going with tradition at all.

However, since you are interested in the unusual and unique consider stepping away from the traditional and doing the unusual such as giving “good cause” favors.

There are many ways to go about giving this type of favor.

1. If you are big on environmental issues make a small donation to one of the environmental groups, such as Greenpeace. You can make cards informing the guests that you have made a donation in their name or some charities will give you cards to hand out when you donate.

You can choose the same charity for everyone, donate to a couple of different ones or choose a different charity for each guest that is important to them. Take Greenpeace for an example, you can have tree planted in their name, or just donate and perhaps use recycled paper to inform them what was done.

2. You may want to consider donating to the SPCA in each ones name and then use something cute to put the donation card on. If they have a dog you can tie the donation card to a dog biscuit with a big ribbon. Or, if they are cat lovers and have some, perhaps a bag or toy with catnip. Are birds more their style? Try making a couple of small nests and place the cards inside the nest.

3. If you donate to the Cancer society you have many different options on how to present the donation card. The pink Breast Cancer symbol is very popular; you can tie the card onto a pink ribbon or get several car magnets or stickers and give them out with a donation card. The March of Dimes is another great charity and you can attach the donation card to a small stuffed animal or even a rattle.

4. Meabwhile you may consider donating to the American Heart Foundation and attach the donation card to several cutouts of hearts, or even little small heart shaped pillows. The American Red Cross is another good charity and the card can be attached to cutouts of their logo or perhaps attach it to miniature life jackets or lifeboats.

Although this will be a special way for your wedding favour, you have indirectly helped many people in this world. This is usually done through your heart but not for your recognition. Having said that you have done a good cause in your life. God bless all of us.
